Our Belief:
We believe that the gospel of Jesus, founded in the scriptures, has life-giving power that can rescue from sin and transform lives.
Unite Guilford is making a REAL difference in our community. Inmates are coming to Christ, improving their lives, and finding a new trajectory that ultimately blesses individuals, families, and the Triad as a whole. Evangelism is at the heart of all we do as a ministry. Weekly, volunteers lead gospel-focused bible studies for our inmates, focusing on the redemption that Christ offers.
Discipleship is imperative to maintaining healthy relationships with Christ. Our volunteers take the time to help redeemed inmates learn the daily disciplines needed to grow deep in their faith.
Inmates tend to have a lot of spare time and are interested in reading. Our Bible distribution ministry is a big part of reaching those in-prisoned who are looking for the truth.
We want to see churches of all groups of people in Guilford County uniting together with the mission of making disciples for Jesus of the men and women that are housed in the Greensboro Jail.
The Guilford County Jail Ministry is blessed to meet weekly in the Central Jail in downtown Greensboro and in High Point.
The Greensboro Jail Central was constructed and occupied in 2012. The facility is podular-style construction; and direct supervision is required to manage the inmate population. Rated capacity for Greensboro Jail Central is 1032 with an average daily population of 690. The facility primarily holds pre-trial detainees but also holds a small percentage of sentenced inmates, federal inmates and inmates awaiting transfer to other jurisdictions.
Greensboro Jail Central offers rehabilitation programs such as: Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous, life skills enrichment and health related programs. Religious services are also offered to all inmates through the Chaplain Services. [information obtained via Guilford County Sheriff's website].

Greensboro Jail Central, located in downtown Greensboro, has an average population of 600 inmates. The jail houses both men and women with men making up over 85% of the population. Our volunteers have the opportunity to meet with these men and women in a small group setting as often as three times a week. The Chaplain and his assistants have opportunities daily. In addition to opportunities to minister to the jail staff.
